i read this article and i would like to have my say, i wish i am mistaken and i wish that from the deepest point of my heart, however, Moroccan buyer of wheat might not buy now , which mean they will not buy on the spot market, they can take some future long position on wheat contract with delivery in 3 months, they can wait until the price in the Moroccan market adjust in their favor and then buy the wheat at the prearranged future price and sell to the Moroccan using spot price. ok it might seem normal, however, they will make Millions of profit and the poor Moroccan citizen will have to pay the price of the staple and the profit of the financial intermediary. anyway, i wish i am wrong.

it is an incredible chance to make to make money. Moroccan have no bargain power and they will buy the wheat at whatever price so why the hurry and even if the Moroccan do not take the position by them selves , they can use an intermediary who will mimic the transaction to give credibility and they will take they profit later in cash, it reeks of money. so what Moroccans can do , they can use the power of consumer protection agencies to investigate the financial transaction and to search who bought what from whom and the legislator has to give this agency more power to restore confidence, it is financial crime in the name of free market theory, anyway this will not happen and Moroccan will end up paying higher price, c est la vie.
